About
Hey, I’m Julie—owner of Do’s & Dye Salon, stylist, and bridal artist.
I opened Do’s & Dye Salon in February 2021, while pregnant with my second baby, in the middle of a pandemic. Not exactly the ideal time to take a huge risk, but looking back, I wish I had done it sooner. At the time, the world was full of unknowns, but one thing I knew for sure? I wanted to create a space where people felt comfortable, heard, and could trust they’re in good hands.
For me, owning a salon was never about status or ego—it was about creating a space where clients feel at home, relaxed, and totally at ease. I wanted a place that felt like kicking back on a friend’s couch, glass of wine in hand, letting the stress of the day melt away. That’s exactly what we’ve built here at Do’s & Dye—a haven for self-care, deep conversations, and, of course, gorgeous hair and makeup.
This all started as a one-woman show until I met Abbey, my right hand girl. She’s the person who believes in this as much as I do, shares and shapes the vision and makes it better. Today, we’ve grown into a team of 14 insanely talented bridal hair and makeup artists in addition to the two of us and it still feels a bit surreal!
My bridal journey started in 2013, and I’ll be honest—I was scared to enter into the wedding world, fearful of demanding and unappeasable brides. Turns out, most brides aren’t scary—they’re just anxious. And I love being the person who brings calm to their big day, whether it’s helping them set boundaries with opinionated family members, sharing a laugh, or just encouraging them to take that quiet moment to breathe and be present.
As my bridal business grew, I hit a point where I physically couldn’t take on any more. I knew it was time to expand, but again with the risk, scary! Would the quality hold up? Would people still trust us? Luckily, after years in the industry, I had met some incredible artists whose work and energy I knew I could stand behind. So I started small, building intentionally, and now here we are—traveling internationally for weddings, expanding into a bridal suite, and still growing.
At the end of the day, this salon isn’t just about hair and makeup. It’s about connection. It’s about making people feel seen, heard, and truly taken care of. So if you’re looking for a salon that gets it—that listens, that cares, and that delivers damn good hair—welcome. You’re in the right place.
